Modtageklasser at UCN10
At UCN10, our "modtageklasser" program offers a safe and supportive start to young people between the ages of 14 and 18 (8th-10th grade) who are new to Denmark. We provide Danish language skills to ensure a smooth transition into the Danish education system.
"Modtageklasser" M10
At UCN10, we offer "Modtageklasser" for young people between the ages of 14 and 18 (8th-10th grade) who are new to Denmark. Here, students receive basic instruction in Danish that helps them navigate and integrate into Danish society.
Purpose
- Learn Danish: We help you develop both your oral and written Danish language skills, making it easier for you to participate in everyday life in Denmark.
- School Subjects: In addition to Danish, we also teach important subjects such as mathematics, social studies, and English, so you are well-prepared to continue your education.
- Learn about Denmark: We introduce you to Danish culture and society, giving you a better understanding of how things work here.
We Prepare You for Further Education
We guide you to progress in the Danish education system based on your wishes and goals.
Three Levels
- Basic Level: For those who are beginners in Danish.
- Intermediate Level: For those who already know some Danish and are ready for greater challenges.
- Advanced Level: For those who can hold a conversation in Danish and have ambitions for further education in Denmark.
How We Teach
We adapt the teaching to the individual group of students, so you get the best possible support to learn. We also collaborate with local businesses and schools, allowing you to apply your skills in practice and build a good network. Additionally, we organize trips that allow you to experience and understand different parts of Denmark outside the classroom.
10th Grade and Transitions
M10 is part of UCN10, which also includes nine 10th grade classes. As your Danish improves, you have the opportunity to fully or partially transition to a regular class at one of Brøndby municipality's public schools or at UCN10, depending on the grade level.
Further Education
In Denmark, you have many opportunities to pursue further education, but mastering Danish is crucial to take advantage of these opportunities fully. As your language skills improve, so will your educational opportunities.
Communication and Absence
We expect you, as a student in M10, to attend classes every day. If you are sick or absent for any other reason, your parents or guardian must inform the school via the teacher's email. Students cannot report their absence. If you are not in school and have not reported your absence, your parents or guardian may receive a message from the school. The teachers must report unauthorized absences to the municipality.
Read more about the rules on absence here: Student Absence (in Danish)
Chromebook
All students in M10 are provided with a Chromebook and charger for schoolwork. You must take good care of your equipment and bring it daily to school. If the computer breaks, contact a teacher.
We hope you have a great time at UCN.
